GimmalSoft Solutions Accelerate Records Management Reform Mandated by President Obama
GimmalSoft DoD 5015.02-Certified Records Management Solutions Help Government Agencies [Meet Requirements]
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Houston, Texas – December 6, 2011 – GimmalSoft records management solutions are available to help US agencies and executive departments meet the recent White House mandate to improve records management policies and practices. President Obama issued a
memorandum on November 28, 2011 that outlines how executive departments and agencies will be required to appoint a senior agency official responsible for reducing redundancy and improve access. The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) will provide guidelines to help officials meet the requirements. The memorandum states “When records are well managed, agencies can use them to assess the impact of programs, to reduce redundant efforts, to save money, and to share knowledge within and across their organizations. In these ways, proper records management is the backbone of open Government.”
"Microsoft is eager to work with the various Federal agencies to help them respond to this Presidential Memorandum. The MS SharePoint 2010 Records Center is widely deployed across the Federal government and is an ideal solution to meet the President's goals. Furthermore, with the recent DOD/JITC 5015.02 certification of the GimmalSoft Compliance Suite we are in an even better position since this solution further extends native SharePoint 2010 records management capabilities," stated Javier Vasquez, Federal Specialist Manager, Communication, Collaboration & Cloud, Microsoft Corporation.
GimmalSoft solution offerings accelerate the development, implementation and management of records management programs. The GimmalSoft Compliance Suite for Microsoft SharePoint provides an efficient, intuitive experience for users who are using Microsoft SharePoint 2010 for managing records. The Compliance Suite is certified against DoD 5015.02 standards for records storage, retention and destruction. The solution is built on Microsoft SharePoint 2010 and therefore, no secondary repository or system is required to meet this standard.
“GimmalSoft solutions for records management fully support the President’s mandate to improve how records are managed, used, and preserved for future generations. By adopting the GimmalSoft Compliance Suite, agencies will gain significant cost savings by avoiding the need for maintaining 3rd party records management applications in conjunction with SharePoint 2010,” said David Quackenbush, President, Gimmal.
